Let’s Play Ball…
From early spring to late fall, those three words mean more than any others in the English language. Over the course of 162 games per year, fans from all across the world wait to hear those three words that signify the beginning of their favorite team competing in America’s pastime. However, the games themselves are only half of what makes baseball so interesting. When one looks behind the scenes, it becomes clear that baseball is every bit as much of a complex business as it is a sport.
It is my passion to investigate how the business side of baseball works quietly in the background in order to produce the entertaining game that we all know and love. By analyzing contracts, trades, signings, and other business-oriented aspects of the game, I hope to show how baseball is much more than a child’s game.
My name is Trey Evans and I am currently attending the University of Alabama where I study marketing and sports media. As a prospective MLB agent, I intend for this site to be used as both a way for fans to educate themselves on current events in baseball as well as a portfolio of my own thoughts and ideas on contracts, trades, and much more.
